New President/CEO of Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce
Yakima, WA - August 29, 2011 - The Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the selection of our new CEO. After reviewing 22 applicants, 11 which were local, we have selected Verlynn Best as our next leader of the Chamber. Verlynn has been the General Manager of the Fairfield Marriott for the past 10 years. She also has served as the previous Chair of the Board for the Chamber. Ms. Best met the criteria set forth by the Chamber Board for its new Executive, including but not limited to:
- Knowledge and experience with the Yakima Community and businesses.
- Knowledge and experience with the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce.
- Experience with financial and staffing issues.
She has been very active in our community; she has a passion and knowledge of the chamber, and is excited about this opportunity. We at the Chamber know she will make positive contributions to the Chamber and the community. We look forward to working with her.
